Recovering beauty addict would suggest that I have good self-control in this area – but it’s really just better. When we were locked in our homes, I took some time to evaluate my massive beauty collection. I slowly started to downsize and realize so many items were just wasted space. I also do better with purchasing now-a-days. A splurge here, a Sephora spring savings event there… but not much else. I guess it does make it really special when you can appreciate some of the greats.
One of the shining stars that is left in my collection is the Dior lip glosses. The oils, the plumpers… whatever. I could have pulled more. The Lip Glow Oil is easy to use, smells nice and the substitutes just aren’t the same. Sorry, Clarins. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of their classic glosses, either. They last and look beautiful on their own or layered.
Gucci Beauty bronzer (01) was a huge hit when it was released. The packaging is stunning, but the product inside is just as impressive. The shelf-life is 2 years, which is a huge plus. I use it frequently, and barely made a dent. I think this is less hyped now because the dazzle of a new product has faded, but if you are fair skinned needing a light, easy glow, I’d take a look at this.
Huda Beauty corrector in Cherry Blossom is quite amazing. It’s such a great texture and just the right amount of coverage. I do find I have to apply concealer over it (slight negative) but overall, the brightening and coverage is worth that trade-off.
The Chanel eyeliner in Brun Teak was a total sucker purchase. The girl that models makeup on their Instagram got me – but I’m glad she did. I tightline with this on the daily since I bought it a few months ago. Waterproof? No. Beautiful? Yes. It’s like the grownup version of MAC’s Teddy (millennial, anyone?).
Dior recently re-released their single eyeshadows. Long ago they had a beautiful color that I wore all the time and was crushed to see it eliminated… probably a long time ago. I bought this shadow because I wanted a powder shadow that could work as a one-and-done shade. Nailed it first try. Beige Mitzah is sparkly, but wearable. It blends well and goes so well with Brun Teak.
